Restorative Dentistry

Dr Greg Campbell Restorative Dentistry provide Restorative dental services that will repair structural issues with your teeth, such as breaks or  cracks, in order to enhance the function of your pearly whites. Crowns, bridges and fillings  are some of the most commonly used dental restorative materials, which are usually covered under basic dental insurance plans. Composite Fillings

A composite filling procedure used by restorative dentistry that involves the use of a tooth-colored resin material to restore the functionality of broken or decayed teeth. Composite fillings cost slightly more than amalgam fillings, however, they are more cosmetically appealing and may last longer than other types of fillings.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and Onlays are used in restorative dentistry to repair broken tooth surfaces and fill cavities. An inlay dental procedure is similar to getting a tooth filled, and modern inlay material is designed to match the color of your natural teeth.

Root Canal

When an advanced cavity deeply penetrates the tooth and causes severe localized pain, a root canal procedure may be required to prevent further infection. Root canal treatments involve the removal of the nerve and tooth pulp containing harmful bacteria. Back Teeth are usually restored with crowns to match the rest of your teeth, but front teeth do not always need crowns. The only alternative treatment for a root canal procedure is a dental extraction.

Mouthguards

Different types of mouthguards are available to maintain your oral health as you perform your daily activities. If you suffer from bruxism (tooth grinding during sleep), stock mouthguards can be readily purchased from your local retailer to protect your teeth throughout the night. Alternatively, your dentist can obtain a mold of your teeth to create a custom mouthguard for more comfort and durability. Boil and bite protectors are another type of mouthguard used by athletes participating in aggressive contact sports.

Extractions and Bone Grafts

Dental Extractions may be needed if you are suffering from severe tooth decay, broken or fractured teeth, or infected teeth. Wisdom teeth may need extraction if there is not enough space in the mouth for them, or if they are partially erupted causing gum and bone infections. Bone grafts can be taken from other sites in the body, or from a donor, and help preserve the bone prior to other procedures such as the placement of dental implants.

Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and Root planing is an effective deep cleaning procedure to remove hardened plaque (calculus or tartar) below the gum line in the deeper pockets around the teeth. This prevents the pockets from deepening which would eventually result in bone loss around the teeth, which causes teeth to loosen and be lost.

Crowns (Sameday CEREC®)

CEREC® same-day crowns are made using advanced technology involving a digital impression of your existing teeth so the new crown will look and feel strikingly similar to your natural teeth. CEREC® crowns may be recommended if you’ve endured a deep cavity removal or tooth fracture. While they might be more costly than other crown options, CEREC® crown longevity and appearance are unparalleled.

Bonding

Similar to veneers, tooth bonding can be used for cosmetic and restorative dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile. The tooth bonding process involves the application of a thin resin coat to your natural tooth, which is bound to the surface using a special “curing” light.

Pediatric Dentistry

Scheduling regular visit to a dentist is the first step to promoting good oral hygiene in your children. Pediatric x-ray sensors are smaller than traditional sensors to accommodate smaller mouths and make it easier for children while taking dental x-rays. At Dr Campbell dental clinic the dentist and dental hygienist will provide dental learning tools to teach young kids the importance of daily brushing and flossing.

Laser Procedures

Soft tissues lasers are used in surgical procedures making them much less invasive with better healing. The soft tissue laser can be used in exposing implants, removing fibromas and other growths and performing biopsies and assisting in crown procedures.

Implants and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Dental implants are the least invasive and best alternative to missing teeth. They function just like natural teeth, and people forget that they even have them. After a tooth is extracted and a bone graft is placed and healed, a dental implant is placed in the bone, which preserves the bone level and prevents further bone loss in the area and around adjacent teeth. Once the implant integrates with the bone, a crown can be made to fit on top of the implant. If multiple implants are in place then other restorative options, such as a bridge or a denture, can be made to fit on top of the implants.

Sedation Dentistry*

Oral conscious sedation is used to sedate patients during dental procedures. It involves a weak sedative taken orally the night before, and the morning of the procedure. It requires more sedation administered orally by the Dentist the day of the procedure, and then the procedure is completed. Oral conscious sedation requires a driver to and from the appointment, as well as a caretaker after the appointment.
